Our mission
Our mission is to promote and facilitate quality masonry production and design through a multilevel approach that includes education, workforce training, and industry advocacy. As part of our advocacy, we sponsor an annual Awards Program recognizing architectural excellence in masonry construction.
Educational Programs
We conduct on-site slide and video programs called Box Lunches because they are held during the lunch hour and include a box lunch for all participants. The programs cover a wide range of technical topics relating to masonry construction and are brief enough to include Q & A periods.
As an educational tool for members, we also make available technical bulletins and info relating to methods, regulations, and codes.
Promotion and advocacy
Besides the programs already mentioned, members of the board of KMI and the member organizations help promote masonry by attending trade shows, industry conferences, and public or community meetings, which could draw attention to the benefits of masonry.
